All Aboard The Skylark

It was all systems go on The Thames as hundreds of thousands lined up to cheer the dazzling array of boats of all shapes and sizes. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has captured the hearts of the Nation as it seems everyone wants to be there to wish her well.

Spare a thought for pensioner Elsie Sedgewick, 85, from Carlisle, who set off last Tuesday to try and meet up with the Royal Flotilla today. Elsie and her Son Roger are staunch Royalists and had been planning the trip for months. However, things haven’t quite gone to plan and they are currently pedalling along on the Norfolk Broads, just outside Wroxham.

Tired and a little disappointed they won’t make the parade, Elsie waved and said ‘Never mind, it’s the thought that counts.’Image
